Credo


The Illuminated Playhouse is a theatre company that honors the individual gifts of creativity that are innately in each of us. We do this by creating a safe creative space to explore the magic, mystery and wonder that exists within. And in this space we allow ourselves permission to be the full creative expression we are meant to be. When we are in touch with the wonder that exists within, we are individually and collectively, unlimited possibilities.

The Illuminated Playhouse is a theatre company whose production focus is given to creative properties that affirm the power of the human heart and spirit. The Illuminated Playhouse is committed to the exploration and expression of theatre arts in a way that honors individual creativity. We pursue this respectfully, organically, and in a way that actively participates in a creative process that endeavors to “live fully in the moment”.  Education on all levels and exploration of the creative process are of
significant importance to this mission.

Artistic Director, Julie Fulcher brings a career of local and regional theater credits as well as experience in radio and TV.  She attended Shenandoah Conservatory on scholarships in acting, voice and piano and continued her training in New York.  She is a member of Actor's Equity Association, an Artistic Associate of Hattheatre and was the Artist in Residence at the University of Ricmond in 2005-2006.

Executive Director, J. Amy Davis brings a career of working with families and teaching children.  She is a graduate of Longwood University and Virginia Commonwealth University. She has co-produced several creative projects through out 30 years of her first career.
